David Hammons is an artist that makes work with inspiration from the black urban experience. He often uses sarcasm as a way of confronting cultural stereotypes and racial issues. In my art, I'd like to subliminally confront cultural stereotypes, racism, and discrimination. I'd also like history to be portrayed through my art. There is some history that may be mentioned but not spoken about in detail in modern history books that I'd like to bring through my art.
