In the beginning of this course I wanted my work to show the history of America that is not often spoken about that is prevalent in the United States today. From riots, the justice system, stop and frisk, I want the viewer to understand what part of history I am referring to and why it is important today. In my work, I use pencil and charcoal for a bold yet simplistic look.
