The idea of eliminating the confederate flag from all public platforms eliminates the acceptance of the idea of a divided country. Some may argue that the flag represents white supremacy. Post Civil War, southern states wanted to reinstitute segregation. Burning the flag is a way to show the elimination of the idea that white Americans are superior to anyone else in America.
