Trail of Tears

For this next project I wanted to implicitly show the history behind the Trail of Tears. Native Americans were forced out of their territory by American soldiers and confined to a small area in Oklahoma. During this “removal process” many Native Americans died on the way to the “Indian territory.” Eventually, the government found a way to remove the Indian territory using oppression and manipulation. I’d like to portray this on a map of the United States with footsteps from the southern states leading to the state of Oklahoma
