Instead of having the outline of the whole country, I decided to have just an outline of a tear with a path in the middle. At the bottom of the path I first had the idea of drawing the shape of the states that the Native Americans came from then I thought I’d draw the symbols of the Native American tribes that walked on the trail of tears to represent where those people came from. The shape of the state of Oklahoma will be at the top in the distance because it was the destination of all the Native Americans. On the path I will have red footsteps to symbolize the people that died and the harsh conditions they endured.
